How many coaches really work on their pitching mounds making sure they are correct height, etc..?
As I travel around Texas, I can't help but notice there is a BIG difference in size and shape of HS mounds. I understand that many teams play on City or County fields that may be out of your control....

Maybe the umpires should make this a true part of the pre-game check
There wouldn't be many games played below the 3A level

I guess I'm a dinosaur, but I keep my dirt baselines....
1 year I was at a school that had a grass infield with cutouts, looked great. But if we have a skin infield, then I have dirt baselines...24 hours!!!

Not many are regulation height. Nobody really checks them. I do know of a coach that refused to play a game where a mound was huge and the team had a 6'6 kid that could bring it and the coach had built the mound up huge and they measured and he said he wasnt playing until it was regulation height. They cut it down and played it the next day.

Yep, I remember when Weimar had 6'10 on the mound!! Our mound was regulation and he was still a monster!! Don't need no high mounds!! but don't need flat ones either!!

I wish we could have went last year. If we would have won the flip and played a series I think we would have, man. Damn my bad luck. Those one gamers suck when the team you are playing has a stud on the bump that has signed with TAMU! We had more hits against him than anybody else in the playoffs did up to that point.
